The general central area of the library after entering its main entrance, is known as the "Popular Books Section". The Popular Books Section, at all times, displays more than 100,000 volumes including paperback and hard cover novels, old and new publications and books in big print. About 470 magazines are on display as well. Major newspapers are left for a period of two weeks before being stored and preserved. The Popular Books Section also has an exhibit area displaying material on a chosen monthly theme. 118 seats for reading are available on the first floor. However, please be advised that bringing in non-library material from outside is not permitted. A "tatami" section is also available where you can take off your shoes and read in an extremely informal atmosphere (left picture: Popular Books Section: right picture: "Tatami Section")
